WAY TO PERFORM ISTIKHARA DUA

Istikhara dua is practiced by many Muslims and many of them believe in it because they know the importance of its impact on their lives. But there are some Muslims, who did not get their desired result yet, which results into lost their faith in Istikhara Dua. Might be they are not doing it with good intentions and might be the case they are not doing it properly. Any dua needs concentration, sincerity towards Allah, and faith in Allah to be successful. There are many things that any Muslim should keep a note before performing Dua.

Before Performing Istikhara Dua

Istikhara is the ritual way of asking guidance from Allah before beginning any task and it needs proper attention and concentration while performing it. To make sure that you would not commit a mistake, given below are some of the things to remember before performing istikhara dua.

You must be clean and punctual to perform istikhara dua because time and place must be same each day otherwise it will not work.

Continue it until you did not get your desired result.

You must perform it alone in a room so no one can disturb you.

You should have to keep patience and believe in Allah because Allah may take time to listen and respond to you but he will do it.

Your desire must be clear to Allah, so put it in a simple manner before Allah.

If you disobey above points then your dua will not work. Follow the above points strictly and then move ahead to perform istikhara dua. But how to perform Istikhara and dua is explained below in the next section.

Way to perform Istikhara Dua

The ritual prayer is performed in two rakas’ (cycles). In the first raka’, one should need to recite Surah al-Kafirun. In second raka’, recite Surah al-Ikhlas. After completion of both these prayers perform Salah tul Istikhara (Istikhara Dua or supplication).

While you reciting dua, you need to think of your desire to put your desire in front of Allah. Do not use any indirect way to show your wish before Allah.

Istikhara Dua for Marriage

Humans are sensitive against marriages. Those who are not willing to get married, in some point of time they will feel lonely and desired to have a life partner to share their feelings and sorrows. If any Muslim is willing to have a life partner but he finds difficulty in getting married then he should perform istikhara dua for marriage but if he doesn’t know how to perform istikhara dua for marriage then he should consult any Sufi in Masjid or perform normal istikhara dua with a difference of mentioning marriage as your wish and the time span of performing Istikhara Dua.
